Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your sparq account and the data attached to it — from inside the app, or by request if you no longer have the app installed.

The short version. Open sparq, go to the You tab, and tap Reset account. That permanently deletes your profile, photos, likes, matches and chats straight away. There is nothing to fill in and no waiting period.

1. Deleting from inside the app

This is the fastest route and the one we recommend:

Open sparq.
Go to the You tab.
Tap Reset account and confirm.

Deletion happens immediately. You are returned to the welcome screen, and the app behaves as though it had just been installed. Nothing is archived for later and there is no recovery window, so only do this if you are sure.

2. If you no longer have sparq installed

sparq has no email address, username or password. Your account exists only as an anonymous identifier created on your device the first time you opened the app. That is a deliberate privacy choice, but it has one consequence worth being straightforward about: once the app is uninstalled, there is no login we can use to find your account for you.

Two things follow from that.

Reinstalling does not get you back to your old account. A fresh install creates a new anonymous identity, so “Reset account” in a reinstalled app deletes the new one, not the old one.
Abandoned accounts are deleted automatically. If an account goes unused, we delete it and everything attached to it — after 30 days if onboarding was never finished, and after 180 days for a completed profile. This happens on its own, with no request needed.

If you would rather not wait for that, email privacy@sparqdating.app and we will do our best to locate and delete the account. Please include whatever you can remember — the first name on the profile, roughly when you used the app, and where — since without an email address on file, those details are all we have to go on. If we cannot identify the account with reasonable confidence we will tell you so rather than delete someone else's.

3. What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes:

your profile — first name, birth date, gender, who you are interested in, and anything you wrote about yourself;
your photos;
likes and super likes, both ones you sent and ones you received;
your matches and every message in them;
your block list;
your Bluetooth presence tokens, so your device stops being recognisable to other users;
your invite code, and your daily super-like allowance.

Records of who you have been physically near are short-lived by design and are removed automatically within about an hour, whether or not you delete your account.

4. What we keep, and why

Two things deliberately outlive account deletion:

Feedback you sent us	Feedback submitted through the app is kept so we can act on it. It is stored separately from your profile and is not linked to anything that identifies you once your account is gone.
Moderation records	Where someone has been reported for serious abuse, we may keep a limited record to enforce our Terms of Use and to protect other users, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you want your feedback removed as well, say so in your email and we will delete it.
